Who am I?

A British woman living in Brussels since 1988 and loyal to Profile Group since 1989. It has been and is still a wonderful experience. Not only have I had the opportunity to be involved in the growth of PROFILE GROUP from a team of 4 to one of almost 50 but through successful repeat business, I have been able to witness this with my clients too as I now recruit at all levels of seniority for my clients.

Impacting people and companies everyday! I mainly work with several European Associations as well as many international companies meaning I interact with different cultures daily. My working relationships are based on respect and empathy. I can always be relied upon to accompany both my clients and candidates every step of the way during the recruitment mission. I help candidates fulfill their true potential by not only encouraging and advising but also sharing all the knowledge I have regarding the organisation which will be their next career step. According to the feedback I receive I have had an impact on both companies’ and candidates’ futures. This is a huge responsibility on which I thrive. I was looking for a candidate for a position as director for digital health. The challenges were numerous: high level of skills, experience in both industry and EU institutions environments, salary expectations compatible with our offer, and scarcity of candidates in that sector due to the fast development of digital health in Europe.
Emma did understand very well our needs and our constraints. She screened potential candidates first with quite an impressive level of accuracy. As it was a high-level recruitment in Communication, we thought it would be best to get the assistance from an outside agency. The purpose of the recruitment was to replace a Communication person that had been in place for 17 years, but we felt that the level of communication in the organisation was very weak and not appropriate for an organisation our size. We therefore needed help to confront our expectations and receive practical support for this recruitment. We exchanged on the job description in great details, putting meaning behind each word.
Emma has been our point of contact for many years. She knows us very well, she took the time several times to visit us in our offices, to take the pulse of the organisation, get a feeling of our corporate culture, understand what was important for us regarding the soft skills of the candidates. We were able to follow the different stages of the recruitment, from the launch of the ads to the reception of the candidates and the first screening. We know that when we receive the CV of a candidate, the person has been screened, interviewed in great details and that references have been taken.
Emma will not provide candidates for the sake of providing candidates. We will only see in interviews the candidates that she feels are right for the organisation – normally the number is limited to 2 or 3 candidates. We communicate at great length over the process – to adapt our criteria according to the interviews and readjust our expectations according to the profile of the candidates, to discuss salary and benefits, to discuss the soft skills and attitudes of candidates.

What I like about Profile Group

The reasons I am with Profile Group since 1989 is due to the varied exciting challenges and diverse international contacts I have on a daily basis. Human Resources constantly changes meaning I am still learning. Working with clients from different business areas means I have gained knowledge of both the private and public sectors. Our challenge is we had an insufficient number of candidates answering to the job offer; additionally, those responding did not have the adequate profile matching with the position.

Profile Group revised the job ad and suggested changes, which resulted in a higher and more qualified number of applicants, and, consequently, in finding the right person.
